This division is also geared toward any player who has not played baseball or any other team sport before regardless of age. Our new improved Machine Pitch division is for any child who has played a year of Tee Ball and is ready for a more advanced program. This program is designed to be faster paced but still a developmental program. For questions or concerns please contact [email protected].

How are players placed on teams?

Modified Tee Ball, Rookies, and Minors Girls Softball are placed generally by zip code and do not attend evaluations (unless league age 8). Player and/or coach requests are also available for Modified Tee Ball, Rookies, and Minors Girls Softball however these requests are not guaranteed. The other divisions do attend evaluations. Majors, Juniors, and Seniors are drafted onto teams and will need to attend player evaluations. Player and/or coach requests will be addressed specifically.  There are no refunds given simply because you do not like what team your player is placed on.

Evaluations information and why are there evaluations for the older divisions?

To prevent the perception that teams are unfairly created. Evaluations and the draft process are used to keep players with similar playing ability together while identifying developing or inexperienced players for proper placement in divisions. CSLL's goal is to encourage equitable playing strength of all teams. If you are registering a player for Minors, Majors, Juniors or Seniors please be aware that there are evaluations before the season starts. Evaluations dates for the 2024 season are Feb 24-25 (Baseball) and Mar 2-3 (Softball). Location will be at the Vibes Indoor Facility and Times TBD but between 10 AM to 5 PM. Evaluations for baseball will be all registered players including coaches children.  Sign up genius link will be sent soon. If you are unsure whether your player will need to attend evaluations please contact us at: [email protected]. Evaluations are only for registered players.

What if my child misses evaluations or chooses not to go?

They will still be placed on a team. He or she will be placed on a team by random draw. This is called a Hat Pick.

When are teams announced?

At Family Fun Night.  For Spring 2024 it will be on March 15.  Teams may begin practicing after that date.

When and where are practices held?

Each coach decides where and when practices are held. It is recommended that the teams do not meet more than 4 times a week with practices and games.

How many games will be played? (approximation based on the number of teams/players)

T-Ball - 10-14
Rookies - 12-14
Minors - 12-14
Majors - 12-14
Juniors- 12-14
Seniors - 12-14

Softball - 12-14

How long is the season?

Practices may begin immediately after teams are announced in March. Games will start April 1st and continue until the first week of June. There is also an end of season tournament for Rookies, Minors, Majors, Juniors, and Softball that will be scheduled after regularly scheduled games.

What days will games be played?

The game schedule varies and will be posted as soon as it is available. In some instances this may be only a few days before games start so please be flexible. It is always recommended to not make any big vacation plans until after the season is over. This includes the spring break as most coaches will want to have practices before the season starts and some games will be played the first week of April. Most likely, all teams will have at least one weeknight game and one Saturday game. Some teams on occasion may have games three times a week. It is recommended that teams do not meet no more that 4 times a week with games and practices. There is also an end of season tournament for Rookies, Minors, Majors, Juniors, and Seniors.

How long does each game last? (We are aware that in some divisions there is not supposed to be an imposed time limit) These are recommended for when there are days when it is needed to schedule multiple games. This allows for the other games to begin on time.

Tee Ball - No new inning at the 1 hour mark
Rookies - No new inning at the 1 hour 30 minute mark
Minors - No new inning at the 1 hour 45 minute mark
Majors, Juniors and Seniors - No new inning at the 2 hour mark

Where are games played?

Our home fields are at Leon Young Sports Complex, 1335 S Chelton Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Some games may also be held at Goose Gossage, Village Green, Wasson Field, Penrose Park, or Spurgeon Field at Memorial Park. Softball and Juniors baseball will inter-league with the other leagues so they will also travel up to Monument and out to High Plains (Falcon).

Okay, I've signed up... now what?

You should have received a confirmation registration email. If you are unsure if your child is registered or that payment went through please feel free to contact [email protected]. You will also receive information about evaluations if your player is signed up in 50/70, Juniors or Majors Softball. Please check your Spam folder and if you are unsure if you are receiving emails please contact [email protected].

What if the weather looks bad? Who do I call?

We encourage coaches to notify their players as soon as games are canceled. The best way to get notification from the league is through Facebook. The website may also be updated. Never assume games are canceled without checking with your coach. Weather in Colorado can change quickly!

How do I volunteer to be a coach or umpire?

Please visit our Volunteer Information page for more information. All volunteers are subject to a background check.

I have a complaint about a coach/umpire/rule, etc.?

First, you are encouraged to address your concerns with your team’s manager. It is highly recommended that you use the "24 Hour" rule before you complain. Sometimes waiting 24 hours before issuing a complaint allows you to think things through more. If there is no resolution, all complaints should be provided in writing to a division commissioner.

What are the Current Bat Rules? (Please note these were changes made in the 2018 season)

Please visit the Little League Website here. More information on baseball bats can also be found on the Baseball Bat Resource Page here.
